The first day of the fifth EU-Central Asia Civil Society Forum ended in Almaty, El.kz reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information.
The event focuses on such issues as the digital transformation, climate change, and empowerment.
Over 150 representatives of EU agencies, the UN, regional governments and civil society organisations attend the event.
On the first day of the forum, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aizada Kurmanova addressing the participants, spoke about the role of civil society in the development of the country and the work of the state to support the non-governmental sector.
In the next two days, the forum participants will continue discussions and seminars, exchange ideas and deepen participation in solving key regional problems.
