Under the co-chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Cooperation Yerzhan Kazykhan and minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Interaction with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development was held, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The meeting was attended by representatives of a number of ministries and the quasi-public sector.
The interdepartmental working group considered topical issues in the framework of cooperation with the OECD, including the identification of a coordinator on gender policy issues, the upcoming assessment of Kazakhstan at the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, as well as the agenda for cooperation with the OECD in the fields of education and science.
During the meeting, the participants noted the need to improve the quality of interaction with the OECD. Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov stressed that joining the OECD is not an end in itself, and bringing national legislation in line with OECD standards will contribute to economic growth.
Following the meeting, the members of the working group developed joint protocol decisions on cooperation with the OECD.
