Akim of the Pavlodar region Asain Baykhanov visited China as part of a working trip and held talks on the implementation of large industrial projects with East Hope Group,El.kz reports citing the press service of the region.
During the visit, the head of the region visited the Six Valleys Industrial Park in the city of Urumqi (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region), which belongs to the East Hope Group, a world leader in the production of polysilicon, graphite and electrolytic aluminum.
Since 2010, the company has invested $12 billion in the development of a low-carbon industrial cluster in the Gobi Desert, creating 11,000 jobs.
At a meeting with General Director Changjun Meng, the parties discussed the prospects for the construction of an aluminum plant, coal and wind power plants, as well as the creation of a coal and chemical cluster in the Pavlodar region.
The total investment in these projects can reach 5 billion US dollars, which will lead to the creation of over 4 thousand new jobs.
The implementation of these initiatives will double the economic growth of the region, multiply the export of finished products and significantly increase tax revenues.
China remains the largest trading partner of the Pavlodar region, which accounts for 54% of the region's foreign trade turnover.
At the end of 2024, this figure increased by 14.2%.
