On January 17, Akim of the Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybay held a meeting with the Gholamreza Hashemi, New Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Aktau. During the meeting, issues of strengthening cooperation in the economic, trade, transport and logistics spheres were discussed.
Gholamreza Hashemi spoke about the upcoming interstate events in Iran and plans for the development of relations.
In his turn, Nurdaulet Kilybay stressed the readiness of the region to support joint projects and strengthen bilateral ties.
The Mangystau region is open for mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran. We are ready to implement projects that will raise our relations to a new level.
Also this year, Aktau has become the cultural capital of the Turkic world, and an official opening ceremony is scheduled for April. We will be glad to see the Iranian delegation at this event," said the akim of the region.
Iran is an important partner of the Mangystau region in foreign trade. There are 66 enterprises with the participation of Iranian capital in the region. For 10 months of 2024, the volume of foreign trade turnover between the region and Iran amounted to 38.3 million US dollars, of which exports - 5.1 million dollars, imports - 33.2 million dollars.
