The Embassy of Kazakhstan hosted announcement ceremony of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Almaty by “Air Asia”. Starting on March 14, 2024, the largest low-cost airline in Southeast Asia will operate four flights a week, El.kz cites MFA.
Tony Fernandes, CEO of “Capital A”, emphasized the special role of Kazakhstan as a major regional hub that opens new horizons to other countries, since, as thousands years ago, it connects East and West.
“Direct flights between the largest cities of our countries will significantly strengthen ties in business, education, tourism and culture. With Air Asia footprint, this project will expand the role of Almaty and Kuala Lumpur as regional hubs of Central and Southeast Asia,” Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bulat Sugurbayev highlighted.
