All 174 rural akims of the Turkestan region were brought to administrative responsibility within the framework of the "Accessible Pasture" project conducted by the prosecutor's office. Each akim was fined 5 million tenge under Article 498 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses, El.kz reports.

According to the prosecutor's office, akims of rural areas deliberately inflated data on the number of animals in the statistical reports of private sectors of agriculture in order to artificially improve the production of milk and meat. These erroneous data were then used by district akimats in the development and approval of pasture management plans.

Currently, the prosecutor's office has brought the statistics in line with real data, which has reduced the total need for pastures in the region by three times. Now the required pasture area is 652 thousand hectares, while the previous estimate was 2.1 million hectares.

In addition, prosecutors have begun to revise similar plans previously approved by the akimats of the region on the basis of the submitted acts. The purpose of these measures is to provide correct and reliable information in pasture management planning.
