13th meeting of Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan intergovernmental commission held in Ashgabat

The 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Criminal, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The meeting was co-chaired by the government of the Deputy Prime Minister  - Head of the Executive Office of the Kazakh Government Galymzhan Koishybayev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdayev, El.kz news agency reports with reference to primeminister.kz.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the issues discussed at the previous session, which was held in May 2023 in Astana. The main attention was paid to the prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two options, as well as interaction in such phenomena as industrial cooperation, economy, transport and logistics, finance, education and culture. Particular importance was attached to the issues of cooperation in the oil and gas sector and interregional cooperation.

Galymzhan Koishybayev stressed that the work of the Commission, first of all, should be focused on the thorough preparation of the upcoming high-level meetings.

The parties expressed confidence that the decisions taken will contribute to further strengthening and deepening bilateral relations in all areas of cooperation.

Following the meeting, a corresponding protocol was signed.
