Almaty and Baku Strengthen Friendly Relations

A meeting of ethno-cultural associations of Almaty with the delegation of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place in the House of Friendship of Almaty.

The delegation arrived in Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation between the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.

The Azerbaijani delegation was represented by the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kazakhstan Bagirov Mammad, Head of the Department for Turkic Speaking Countries of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Rassulov and specialist of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan Teymur Atayev.


Before the meeting, the guests had an excursion in the Friendship House, during which they visited the offices of ethno-cultural associations.

Then in the press hall of the House of Friendship a meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, which was opened by Nazar Balgimbayev, Head of the Secretariat of the Almaty’s APK.

The speaker told about the work of the Almaty APK, noting that "Today ethnocultural associations actively participate in all events held in the republic and in the city, and also organize their own, thus contributing to the strengthening of inter-ethnic relations. Azerbaijani ethno-cultural associations, of which we have three in our city, are one of the most active centers, taking part in all social and cultural events.


In turn, chairman of the republican public association "Association of Azerbaijanis" Abilfas Khamedov told about the activity and work of the association, which contributes to the strengthening of socio-political stability of Kazakhstani society, peace and interethnic accord.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation between the two countries.
